Oil changes benefit Muscular Dystrophy Association

Thursday is Name Your Price Day at all Central Coast Jiffy Lube locations.

Name Your Price Day is a charity day that the company holds where customers are allowed to pay any amount they want for the basic oil change package. All proceeds from the oil changes will go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association to help fight the disease.

Jiffy Lube employees also volunteered to donate their wages for the day in order to bring more money in to the Mucular Dystrophy Association.

Pennzoil and Throttle Muscle also joined the cause by donating oil and filters to Jiffy Lube to maximize profits for the MDA.

"We are so proud of our employees who are very passionate about MDA and raising funds to help fight against Neuromuscular Disease," said Sean Porcher, a Jiffy Lube franchisee.

This is the second year since Jiffy Lube started the "Muscle Up" campaign, which aims to help fight Muscular Dystrophy across the nation.

During last year's drive, the Goleta branch of Jiffy Lube raised the most money, with the Arroyo Grande branch coming in second.

"While our goal is to raise as much money as possible, our competitive spirits drive us to do more. My team is motivated to take the top spot in the nation this year," said Jolene Jones, manager of the Arroyo Grande Jiffy Lube.
