The Santa Maria Town Center is seeing new life this holiday season. The mall has added 13 new retailers under its roof. A spokesperson for the mall says they've been looking to attract more local merchants to create a sense of community. With the down economy, national retailers have also been less likely to expand. New toy stores, pet stores, and a kids gym are just a few of the new shopping options. A lot of the new merchants are aimed at kids, who in turn bring mom and dad along. A new Regal 14 Cinemas will replace the Gottschalks. It's scheduled to open early 2011.
