Students at a local school will get the opportunity to enhance their skills out in the garden thanks to KSBY and SLO Dental's One Class at a Time grant.

Rena Spooner's first grade class at Dana Elementary in Nipomo was surprised with the $250 education grant Thursday morning.

Spooner says her class needs more tools to better learn about gardening.

"We have a school garden that doesn't have a whole lot of supplies," Spooner said, "I'm hoping to purchase some items that the students in my class as well as the whole school will be able to use year after year to help develop the outdoor classroom."
