Coming up with the cash for science camp is no longer an experiment for a local class, thanks to KSBY and SLO Dental's One Class at a Time grant.
Cathy Sanford's class at Grover Beach Elementary is the first winner this year of the $250 grant. Her 6th grade students will use the money to attend science camp in mid-February.
"This is so awesome," Sanford said, "there are so many kids that in our area don't have enough money to go to science camp and it's a once in a lifetime experience."
