One dead, 5 hurt in Coast Guard boat collision in San Diego

SAN DIEGO (AP) - Authorities say one person was killed and at least five others were injured when a 33-foot Coast Guard patrol boat and a recreational boat collided while a Christmas boat parade was going on in San Diego Bay.
Coast Guard spokeswoman Jetta Disco says in a news release that one person from the civilian boat was declared dead Sunday night at University of California, San Diego Hospital.
San Diego Fire Department spokesman Maurice Luque says five others with serious injuries - all from the recreational boat - were taken to the same hospital.
Luque says all 13 people involved in the crash shortly before 6 p.m. have been accounted for. Coast Guard officials say no one from the patrol boat was injured.
A parade spokesman says neither of the two boats were involved in the parade.
