The Santa Barbara County Fire Department says one person is dead after a bulldozer accident on San Marcos Pass in Santa Barbara.
According to a fire spokesperson, the accident happened just after 4p.m. In the 2000 block of Old San Marcos Road in Santa Ynez. That's off Hwy. 154.
Fire crews say the victim, possibly the property owner, was driving the bulldozer in steep terrain when it went over an edge. He was either ejected, or the bulldozer rolled on top of him.
When fire crews arrived, the victim, an adult male, was already dead. Santa Barbara County Fire says the sheriff's department's search and rescue team will now perform a technical operation to hoist the body out of the area.
