San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Deputies say a man in jail after leading officers in a car chase through Nipomo.
Deputies tell us they tried to pull over Ruben Rivera at the Nipomo Chevron Station for a traffic violation and suspicion that Rivera had outstanding warrants late Wednesday night.
River sped off and a chase began.
While driving on South Frontage Road, deputies say Rivera lost control of his car and went off the road into an embankment.
He then ran away and into a nearby yard.
Deputies say they released a canine unit to search for Rivera. He was found, and arrested.
As a result of the incident, Rivera let out four Chihuahuas who were in the backyard of the home he was hiding in.
The Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help in finding the four dogs. If you have any information about the dogs, you're asked to call the Sheriff's Department at 781-4550.
