Opening in Start Smart classes

The Santa Maria Office of the California Highway Patrol has announced that there are still openings available for the next Start Smart classes on Wednesday September 18th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
Start Smart is a free traffic safety course that speaks directly to newly licensed drivers and their parents. It addresses issues that are most important to new drivers. Some of the topics that will be covered include: collision avoidance techniques, collision causing elements, driver responsibilities, and local collision trends. The class will also feature a viewing of the short film Red Asphalt V. The film emphasizes the necessity to drive responsibly and the consequences drivers may face when they don't.
To enroll in Start Smart call the Santa Maria CHP area office at 349-8728 and make a reservation.
