The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department is taking "Operation Medicine Cabinet" to two local elementary schools.
It's all part of over-the-counter awareness week. The sheriff's department will collect expired and unused prescription and over-the-counter drugs. It says the abuse of those drugs is the biggest problem facing our youth.
Wednesday afternoon, Sheriff's D.A.R.E Officers will be at La Patera School in Goleta from 2:45 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.. On Friday, they will swing by Joe Nightengale Elementary in Orcutt from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00p.m..
