Supporting a good cause never smelled so sweet.
The 15th Annual Five Cities Orchid Society show benefiting the Alzheimer's Association returns to Arroyo Grande this weekend.
Friday is the preview show with wine tasting, gourmet hors d'oeuvres, live music, a silent auction and an awards presentation. KSBY News Daybreak Anchor Carina Corral will be among some of the night's judges.
Attendees get the first selection of orchids for purchase.
And this year, the orchids have gone native, or at least that's the theme of the event.
Folks are encouraged to wear tribal costumes.
Saturday and Sunday is the orchid show and sale.
The American Orchid Society will judge the plants being exhibited and vendors will offer a large variety of orchids, orchid books and orchid supplies for sale.
Orchid culture, re-potting demonstrations, plant doctors and show tours will provide valuable information to orchid enthusiasts.
Tickets for the preview night on Friday are $40.
General admission is $5 on Saturday and Sunday, which includes a door prize ticket.
Children 12 and under are free.
It takes place at the South County Regional Center, Saturday, March 27 from 9-5 and Sunday, March 28, from 10-5.
The Alzheimer's Association is committed to research, education, and quality care for those affected by Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.
