The boys tennis teams from Righetti and Orcutt Academy saw their seasons come to an end on Tuesday in the wildcard round of the CIF playoffs.
Orcutt Academy hosted Oakwood in a Division 4 Wildcard match. The two teams were tied 9-9 in sets after the three rounds. The tiebreaker came down to the total number of games. Oakwood compiled 71, while Orcutt racked up 67 so the Spartans' season came to a close with a 13-8 overall record. The Spartans were led by singles player Jeff Burr. The sophomore won his three sets 6-1, 6-1, 6-0 to finish the season 47-9 overall. Oakwood will play at Santa Ynez in a first round match on Wednesday.
Righetti lost at home 13-5 to Bonita in a Division 2 Wildcard match. The Warriors finished third in the PAC 7 League this season. Righetti's top doubles team Alex McKinney and Patrick Sims fared the best on the day by taking two out of their three sets.
Atascadero fell 14-4 at South Hills in the wildcard round of Division 2.
