Amgen Tour of California bike racers will be sprinting their way through some smaller towns on the Central Coast like Orcutt, before reaching the finish line at Avila Beach.
Business owners in this small town outside of Santa Maria hope their glimpse during this international race will also put them in the spotlight.
The tour came through Orcutt four years ago.
Some business owners say since then, Orcutt has grown with more shops and restaurants.
Local shops say this time around, they are ready to show off to the world.
Amgen bike racers will pass through Orcutt for only for a few minutes, but business owners hope to make a positive impression that lasts long after the race is over.
"Some of the merchants will be wearing some of these beautiful orange t-shirts and I'm already sporting my baseball cap," said Mark Stellar, owner of Old Town Market.
In only a couple of days, hundreds of athletes will race past his shop and he hopes lots of spectators will stop by and spend some money.
"It will let people know we are here," said Stellar.
Just down the street, Deasee's Designs is prepping for sales.
"We are excited to have any traffic come through our little town and so they can see how special this town is and watch it grow," said Megan Rimrodt, manager of Deasee's Designs.
Rimrodt says Orcutt has several other tourist events during the year that draw in crowds, but she says the Amgen Tour of California could put this small Central Coast city on the map.
"I think it will help all the businesses because they'll know we are here. A lot of people don't know we are here because we are pushed back a bit," said Rimrodt.
As the streets of Orcutt wait for the largest bike race in the nation to arrive, businesses are ready to offer a warm welcome.
"It's a little travel to get here, but once you get here you're going to want to stay," said Stellar.
Stage 5 will start in Santa Barbara on Thursday.
The racers will continue to the sprint portion in Orcutt, Guadalupe and Arroyo Grande and then finishing at Avila Beach.
KSBY will be live in Avila Beach on Thursday to bring you the finish of Stage 5 of the Amgen Tour of California.
