Students in Orcutt got a unique learning opportunity on Wednesday. They had the chance to experience a lesson hands-on. The students revved up hydrogen powered cars. It's part of a science class at Orcutt Academy High School.

The students are studying alternative forms of energy and how they can be used in transportation. Students said it's critical to our future.

Marisa Zubiate, student, said, "Energy it's really different today because we don't have enough to produce it. We're trying to find other ways to discover how we can alternate it to be good both for the environment and for people."

Their teacher wants them to learn about the pros and cons of different types of energy use.
