A Cal Poly student brought his vision of organic living to Mitchell Park Saturday by organizing an all-natural and organic festival.

Thirteen vendors featured a variety of healthy and organic foods, from beer to chocolate. An event highlight was a solar pod that provided power for three bands. Organizer Andrew Salter says organic and sustainable living is something he is passionately trying to promote.

"We just can't be spraying vegetables and products with pesticides because it goes into our waters and rivers and we can't be putting chemicals on this Earth and we got to go the natural way and work with nature," Salter said.

This was Salter's first event. He and his "Organicfest" partner say they are eager to plan many more throughout the area.
