After selling out weeks before the inaugural San Luis Obispo Marathon, organizers announce the dates of the 2013 Marathon and Half.
Once again the event will take place during Earth Day weekend. The marathon and half marathon will take place on Sunday, April 21, 2013. The marathon will cap at 2,000 people and the half will cap at 6,000. The event's 5K race will take place Saturday, April 20 with a cap at 1,000 people.
Active.com named the event the Top New Boston Qualifier and new spring marathon. Last year, Van McCarty of San Luis Obispo won the men's race with a time of 2:38.34. Carin Serba was the first woman to cross the finish line. The San Luis Obispo resident finished in 3:16.33.
The course will remain the same and take participants through downtown San Luis Obispo, Edna Valley and on to the Madonna Inn property.
Registration opens July 21, 2013. To register, view course maps, volunteer or to learn more click here.
