UC Santa Barbara basketball star Orlando Johnson has decided to withdraw his name from the NBA Draft and return for his senior season.
Johnson, a two-time Big West Tournament MVP, led the conference in scoring the last two years. He ranked in the top 15 last year as a junior scoring 21 points per game.
Johnson declared for the Draft last month and took part in a workout in New Jersey over the weekend. Since he did not hire an agent during the process, he was allowed to return for his senior season.
"I want to finish what I started," said Johnson in a press release issued by the school. "I want to get my degree. When I went to LMU my goal was to graduate and I don't want to leave college without achieving that."
Johnson helped lead the Gauchos to back-to-back Conference Tournament titles and NCAA Tournament berths for the first time in program history.
With Johnson's announcement, the Gauchos will reload for the 2011-12 season. James Nunnally and Jaime Serna are also returning to the Gauchos under head coach Bob Williams.
