Over 500 local kids and adults take part in Day of the Child

Over 20 local non profit healthcare agencies helped put on Day of the Child at the Oceano Community Center on Sunday.

Nearly 500 local kids and adults attended the free event, which offered health screenings and activities.

Participating agencies included: Arroyo Grande Community Hospital, Community Health Centers of the Central Coast, San Luis Obispo County Public Health and South County Youth Coalition.

Other agencies who participated included the STRIDE Program from Cal Poly State University, HEAL SLO, the Boys and Girls Club of South San Luis Obispo County, San Luis Obispo County Drug and Alcohol, Tobacco Control, Mental Health and the POPS Parenting Program, Caring Callers for Seniors, HICAP Medicare Counseling for Seniors, Children's Health Initiative, Lion's Club, Lucia Mar Migrant Education and School Readiness, French Hospital Medical Center Heart Aware program, Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Coastal Cancer Care Center, Lisa Ray's Donation Group, Jamba Juice, Food Bank of San Luis Obispo County and Grace Bible Church Latino Ministries.
