He was a man who helped give birth to the wine industry on the Central Coast, and he was a world famous pianist, composer and statesman. And this weekend, Ignacy Jan Paderewski will be remembered by the unveiling of a monument in his honor right in the heart of Paso Robles City Park.
This weekend is the Paderewski Festival in Paso Robles and this year the monument will be unveiled right across the street from the Paso Robles hotel where he resided whenever he visited his Paso ranches. The statue will be unveiled at 12:30 Saturday, November 10th, as part of the five-day Paderewski festival.
The festival starts Thursday, November 8th and runs through November 12th. Highlights include concerts by exchange program studetns from Tarnow, performances by winners of the 2012 Paderewski Youth Paino Competition, and concerts throughout the weekend.
The Paderewski Festival attracts internationally renowned musicians and audiences from all over the United States.
