The votes are in for the San Luis Obispo City Council Special Election.
Carlyn Christianson received 4,138 votes, or 47.6% of the vote.
Paul Brown followed with 3,371 votes, or 38.8%.
The third candidate, Donald Hedrick, received 217 votes, or 2.4%.

The Santa Maria Reds scored a run with two outs in the eighth inning and two more with two outs in the ninth to beat the North County Indians, 3-1.

Santa Maria Police are investigating the cause of a crash involving five cars on Tuesday.
It happened just before 7:30 pm at the intersection of Broadway and McCoy.
Police say several people were injured in the crash and taken to the hospital.

If you're driving in San Luis Obispo this summer, you might want to watch out for some road work.
The city says beginning this week, several projects are scheduled to take place along California Boulevard.
The projects will take place from the Cal Poly entrance to Palm Street.
The construction will include additions to the Railroad Safety Trail and street reconstruction and resurfacing projects.

Congresswoman Lois Capps announced on Tuesday that San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties are set to receive more than $4 million in federal funding.

Santa Barbara County Fire officials are investigating the cause of a fire at a home in Goleta on Thursday.
Fire officials say the flames broke out in a shed behind the home on the 6200 block of Momouth Avenue around 6:20 pm.
The shed was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. They say it spread to one room of the home before they were able to get a handle on the fire.
No one was hurt.
