Two Central Coast natives combined to score 45 points to lead the Cuesta College women's basketball team to its sixth-straight victory. The Lady Cougars beat Saddlebrook 77-51 on Thursday during the first round of Allan Hancock College's Bulldog Classic.

Atascadero High graduate Alyssa Palma, a sophomore guard, led the way with 29 points. Sophomore forward Aria Johnson, a Morro Bay High graduate, added 16 points for Cuesta. Courtney Chadwick and Miriam Zabinky each poured in 10 points for the Cougars.

Cuesta, which won its own tournament over the weekend for the first time since 2001, advances to the semifinals. The Cougars play at 5pm on Friday at Hancock College.
