Hundreds of people turned out for a tasty treat Sunday morning to benefit some local students.

Around 200 people were at the Oceano Train Depot for a pancake breakfast put on by the Kiwanis Club of greater Pismo Beach.

The event was a fundraiser to help some children from Oceano Elementary participate in music classes.

Although it was wet outside, it didn't keep people away.

Oceano Kiwanas Club president Linda Austin says, "We've noticed on our pancake breakfasts, when the weather's raining, we have a bigger crowd. People love to come and, you know, get out of the rain, and we have a great pancake breakfast."

Students from the Oceano Kiwanas K-Kids Club were helping to serve up the food, and retired Undersheriff Martin Basti was the guest cook.
