The lines were out the door at Panera Bread's grand opening Saturday. The restaurant and bakery off of Madonna Road opened at 6 a.m. after a private party for investors Friday night.
It is the first store in San Luis Obispo County and residents we spoke with say it did not disappoint.
"I was pretty stoked because I like bagels and it's always nice to have different places to go to lunch and sit outside," said Pam Pickering, who lives in San Luis Obispo. "I like it, I like that they have salads and soups and breakfasts, coffee, smoothie so it's got a good selection."
Panera Bread also brings 75 new jobs to San Luis Obispo. The store is owned by former NFL wide receiver and current ESPN analyst Keyshawn Johnson. He also owns the Panera Bread in Santa Maria.
