Coast Guard and Customs and Border Control officers on Wednesday tracked and intercepted a panga boat that ran out of fuel in the waters just north of San Miguel Island. That's off the Santa Barbara County coast.

Officers say they detained three men who were onboard and confiscated 35 large bundles of marijuana. California Highway Patrol officers on the Central Coast were notified and stepped up shoreline patrols in the area.
