Two people were detained Saturday morning after law enforcement officials intercepted a panga in the Channel Islands.
The U.S. Coast Guard says crews on routine patrol spotted the 35-foot panga southwest of San Nicolas Island early in the morning.
A law enforcement team was deployed to investigate and a pursuit began, officials say.
Other agencies also helped out and the boat was stopped southwest of Santa Rosa Island.
The Coast Guard says two people were inside the panga, along with 122 bales of marijuana, which were confiscated.
