A 46th minute goal from Anthony Guerrero proved to be the difference as the Pioneer Valley boys soccer team won at Nipomo 1-0 in a non-league match on Tuesday night.
The Panthers, who are ranked #3 in CIF's Division 5 this week, improved to 8-1-1 on the season. The Titans, who are the defending Los Padres League champions, fell to 4-3-2 overall.
After a scoreless first half, the Panthers' Daniel Medina sent a pass inside the box. Nipomo goalie Johann Ayala came a few yards out from the goal to deflect the ball away, but it caromed right to Guerrero, who sent the ball over a defender and into the open goal.
