The parents in the "balloon boy" hoax have been handed the bill.
The Larimer County District Attorney says Richard and Mayumi Heene owe $42,000 after several agencies attempted to rescue their six-year-old son from a runaway balloon.
But the couple allegedly lied about the incident.
The Heenes have reached a plea deal on charges stemming from the hoax, and are scheduled to be sentenced Friday.
That's when a judge will determine if they must repay the agencies that responded.
