Construction continues on a project to install several horizontal drains on Highway 1 one mile north of Ragged Point. Roadwork scheduled for Monday, December 14th has been canceled due to equipment issues. Overnight construction from 8 pm until 5 am will resume on Tuesday, December 15th and continue for three nights until Friday December 18th, weather permitting. Motorists are advised to use Highway 46, 101 or 68 as a detour.
One-way daytime traffic control with flaggers is in effect from 7 am until 4 pm Monday through Thursday and until 2 pm on Fridays. There will be no construction between 2 pm on Fridays and 8 pm on Sundays. Authorized emergency vehicles will have access to Highway 1 at all times during this project. Electronic message signs will be provided to advise motorists, who can expect delays not to exceed 20 minutes. The project is expected to be complete by February, weather permitting. All businesses along the corridor will remain open.
