PASADENA, Calif. (AP) - Pasadena police officers have stumbled into a backyard altar adorned with a human skull and other bones while investigating reports of a possible trespasser.
Police Lt. Jason Clawson says the officers never found the trespasser Sunday, but they discovered the bones along with incense, candles and animal bones in what appeared to be a makeshift altar.
The remains were taken to the Los Angeles County coroner's office for further examination.
Police called the discovery a case of suspicious circumstances and an investigation was under way.
