Paso Robles Police asking for public's help after attempted ATM theft

Paso Robles police are searching for suspects they say tried to steal an ATM from outside a local bank.

Officers say an alarm sounded just after 7:00 a.m. on Sunday morning from an ATM at the Heritage Oaks Bank on South River Road.

When officers arrived, they found the suspects had removed an ATM from its moorings in the drive-through area, by using a truck to pull the machine out with a cable. They say that ATM landed a short distance away, face down.

Officers say the truck used by the suspects was left at the scene. They determined it had been stolen from Long Beach.

No money was stolen, but there was extensive damage to the machine. If you have any information, please call Paso Robles Police at: 805-237-6464 or call Crime Stoppers at: 805-549-STOP.
