Paso Robles family reuniting with dog missing for seven years

A local family is heading to Texas Thursday for a very special reunion.

Thanks to a micro-chip, after seven years, their lost dog has been found.

In December 2006, the Lopez family returned to Texas after being stationed in Germany for two years.

On a Christmas shopping trip, they fell in love with a Basset Hound named Angel.

Angel ran away and the family eventually moved to Paso Robles where the dad is stationed at Camp Roberts.

They were very sad about losing Angel, until they got a call from the micro-chip company earlier this week.

"We did think about her quite often, what happened, hoped that she was well, which she is, according to the guy that found her. She is healthy, and she's very calm and she's a good dog," said Dolores Lopez, Angel's owner.

The family is traveling to Texas Thursday to pick up Angel.

They say it's about a 24-hour drive.

The people that found Angel renamed her Annabell.
