A man is behind bars after police say he burglarized a Paso Robles business.
Paso Robles Police say they responded to the 1100 block of Vendels Circle Thursday morning after an alarm had been activated at the business around 3:50 a.m.
When they arrived, police say they noticed a locked gate had been cut open.
After searching the area, police found Kevin Smith, 46, from Paso Robles, who they say was responsible for the burglary.
He was booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail on suspicion of burglary, suspicion of possession of stolen property, suspicion of possession of burglary tools, and suspicion of possession of an illegal weapon, which police say was a wooden club.
The investigation is ongoing.
