After conducting follow-up interviews, the Paso Robles Police Department says original reports of a planned child abduction at a Paso Robles school sometime before Christmas are not true.
The department says it interviewed the person from Stockton who originally reported the planned abduction and found he embellished information he received from a woman in San Luis Obispo County.
Police say they interviewed both the man and woman and also the person of interest, who has been cleared, in this case, of doing anything wrong.
Police remind everyone to report any suspicious activity to police, and to remind children of stranger awareness safety tips.
