The California Office of Traffic safety awarded the Paso Robles Police Department two traffic grants in the end of 2009.

The first grant will pay for six DUI checkpoints in the city of Paso Robles over the next year. They'll coincide with major holidays or events in the city.

The second grant will go towards enforcing seat belt and child safety seat violations. The money will pay for two mobilization periods, one in May and another in November, as well as monthly crackdowns.
