Paso Robles resident in custody in connection with Greenfield homicide

San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office officials helped Greenfield police serve a search warrant Thursday morning in Heritage Ranch, in connection to a murder investigation.

Greenfield police arrested Arnulfo Pineda, 35, of Paso Robles, on Sunday, February 23 in Greenfield.

Police say an officer heard gunshots coming from the area near the front of a business, then saw Pineda running from the scene. They say the officer chased Pineda and saw him drop a gun before Pineda eventually stopped and surrendered to the officer.

Police say other officers responding to the scene found a man dead, with several gunshot wounds.

Police say Pineda is a known King City gang member and that his friends and relatives have a violent history. They would not disclose what, if anything, was found during Thursday's search in Heritage Ranch.

Pineda faces murder and firearm charges, along with gang enhancements.
