Paso Robles School District invites people to talk about budget

The Paso Robles Joint Unified School District is holding a series of town hall meetings to discuss its financial situation and what's ahead.
The District wants people to get involved and appreciates their input.
Last year, schools were forced to start furlough days after budget cuts.
At Wednesday's meeting, school district administrators talked about reducing furlough days and balancing the budget, but some teachers say the money from Proposition 30 should be enough to end furloughs.
"We have looked at the books. they have the money. they have the money for this year. they have the money for next year," said Robert Skinner, a teacher in the Paso Robles District.
"The funding is still not robust enough for us to completely reduce all furlough days or we'll be back in the same place we were," said Kathy McNamara, Superintendent of the Paso Robles Public School System.
Three more meetings are scheduled through Monday.
Thursday's meeting is from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. at George Flamson Middle School.
There is one on Friday at Virginia Peterson Elementary School and one Monday at 6:00 p.m. at the district office board room.
