Generous bidders and winemakers who put together enticing lots to bid on raised a big chunk of change a couple of weeks ago at the Paso Robles Wine Country Auction. The afternoon brunch event on August 18th raised more than $104-thousand dollars. The event was held for the first time in the gardens of Summerwood Winery and Inn.
250 people attended the event and enjoyed a four-course meal prepared by chefs Tom Fundaro of Villa Creek, Kelly Wangard of Summerwood Winery and Inn, Chris Kobayashi or Artisan, Will Torres or the Restaurant at Justin Vineyards and Winery, and Julie Simon and Thomas Hill Organics. Vintners hosted tables and paired wines with the food for guests.
Proceeds from the auction will be given to a variety of charities in the community at the end of the year.
