Paso Robles woman featured on KSBY while awaiting liver transplant dies of cancer

A 23-year-old Paso Robles woman battling a rare liver disease and cancer passed away on Saturday.

Roxanne Lewis was born with a non-functioning liver.

She was featured on KSBY's Healthy Living segment back in January when she was in need of a liver transplant.

Months after the story aired, Roxanne was taken off the transplant list when doctors discovered the cancer once isolated to her liver had spread to her lungs.

Before she passed, she was able to cross some items off her "bucket list" such as sit on the diving platform at the Roman pool at Hearst Castle and go to New York City.

She also left us with some words to live by. "I always make sure to say everyday, 'I love you' because I just don't know," she had said during her last interview with KSBY.

Her family said Roxanne passed away with her "loving family by her bedside."

Roxanne's memorial service will be held Saturday, December 1, at one o'clock at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Atascadero.
