Pedestrian dies after being hit by LA metro train

LOS ANGELES (AP) - A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a Blue Line light rail train in South Los Angeles.

City fire department spokesman Erik Scott says the train was near the Vernon station Friday when it struck the man, whose age is unknown.

Scott says no train passengers were injured.
