The California Highway Patrol responded to a call at 3:00am Wednesday after a vehicle hit a pedestrian on the Madonna Road off ramp in San Luis Obispo.

A pedestrian was walking across the northbound Highway 101 off ramp wearing dark clothing. That's when a car exited, striking the victim.

The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where she suffers from major injuries.

The driver was not hurt.
