Pedestrian hit, driver arrested for alleged DUI in Santa Barbara

A Los Angeles man is facing charges for allegedly driving drunk and hitting a pedestrian in Santa Barbara early Friday morning.

It happened just before 3:00 am at the intersection of Bath and Carrillo Streets.

Santa Barbara police say Brent Pella, 23, was making a left turn when he hit a 24-year old man who was crossing the street.

The man suffered life-threatening injuries.

Police say Pella was driving under the influence of alcohol. They say a breath test measured his BAC at .11. Pella was arrested for felony DUI resulting in injury.
