WASHINGTON (AP) - Some Democrats are expressing dismay at Speaker Nancy Pelosi's plans to try and stay on as leader of her party in the House, after Democrats suffered massive losses in Tuesday's election.

Rep. Joe Donnelly of Indiana says he's "disappointed" by the decision announced Friday, while North Carolina Rep. Larry Kissell's office said he hopes Pelosi "will change her mind and step aside."

Reps. Dan Boren of Oklahoma and Mike Ross of Arkansas also said they oppose Pelosi.

Pelosi says many colleagues urged her to seek the post of minority leader when Congress reconvenes under a Republican majority in January.

Allies say the San Francisco lawmaker wouldn't have made the bid unless she felt certain she had the votes.
