Person has serious injuries after Tuesday afternoon crash near SLO airport

The San Luis Obispo Police Department said a person was transported to the hospital with major injuries Tuesday afternoon after a crash near the airport.
The car collided with a United Blood Services van near Fiero Lane at Broad Street. The driver of the van was not hurt. Emergency crews had to extricated the driver of the car, which had veered off the roadway after the crash.
The driver of the car is at French Hospital. Neither driver's identities have been released.
