Pet resort founder: staff 'deeply sorrowful' for loss

The founder of Thousand Hills Pet Resort has released a statement with more information about the fire that killed seven dogs at the San Luis Obispo facility early Monday.

Jack Gould says the fire broke out in a small kennel at the resort. He says an employee immediately notified CAL FIRE and directed a hose on the fire to protect the other adjacent kennels.

Gould added "Our staff is deeply sorrowful for the loss of these precious animals and our hearts and prayers go out to their families."
