Pewter Plough Playhouse kicks off holiday show this weekend

The Pewter Plough Playhouse in Cambria kicks off the holiday season this weekend with the opening of its next show "A Tuna Christmas".

It's a satire of small-town life during Christmastime, with remarkably just two talented and quick-changing actors playing all 22 delightfully eccentric characters from Tuna, Texas, both male and female.

It's Christmas Eve in the third smallest town in Texas, where the Lion's Club is too liberal and Patsy Cline never dies. The town is abuzz with news of a mysterious "Christmas Phantom" vandalizing decorations and other Yuletide traumas, causing events to quickly spin out of control. This is the second in a series of zany comedies by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears and Ed Howard, the first being "Greater Tuna".

A Tuna Christmas opens this Friday, November 22nd and runs through Dec 31st. Fri, Nov 22nd is preview night. Tickets are $15.00. The show starts at 7:30.

*The Plough's Gala Champagne Opening is Sat, Nov 23, at 7:30 pm, including a special after-show party with champagne, dessert buffet and live music, with pianist/vocalist Dave Manion performing live at the Baldwin, $25.

*Performances continue on all Fridays and Saturdays, at 7:30 pm; and all Sunday Matinees in December, at 3 pm, through Dec 31. Tickets are $20.00 for adults, $18.00 for seniors and students.
