PG&E spokesperson says cause of transmission level outage Sunday night was due to equipment failure.
The California Utilities Emergency Association says that the PG&E power outage was due to a "flash" at a sub-station at Morro Bay, resulting in a loss of transmission to several sub-stations.
PG&E is is the process of restoring power to customers and expecting to restore all power by midnight.
145,000 customers remain without power on the Central Coast at 11:30 p.m.
