PG&E crews are trying to get the lights back on for people in Grover Beach, after a transformer fire knocked out power.

PG&E says it happened just before 6 p.m. Tuesday in the 1200 block of Ramona Street.

Originally, more than 2,000 customers were without power. As of 10:40 p.m., PG&E says that number was downgraded to 600 customers. Crews say they should have power restored by 5:00 a.m. Wednesday.
