NFL veteran quarterback and Santa Maria native Mark Brunell has become an overnight internet sensation for being on the receiving end of a gross act.
During last night's AFC Championship game against the PIttsburgh Steelers, New York Jets starting quarterback Mark Sanchez literally picked his nose and wiped it on Mark Brunell's jacket. The camera cut away in the middle of Brunell's reaction, where it appeared he was asking Sanchez what he just did.
Brunell did not play in the Steelers' 24-19 win, where Pittsburgh delivered the Jets their second straight loss in an AFC championship game.
The St.Joseph High graduate, the Jets backup quarterback and mentor to Sanchez, did not play in the game. In his first season with the Jets, the 18 year NFL veteran took snaps in just one game.
He completed 12 passes, including throwing two touchdown passes, in the Jets' 38-7 win over Buffalo in the regular season finale. Brunell has one year remaining on his contract with the Jets.
