Pioneer Valley High School has named Greg Lanthier as its new Athletic Director. He replaces Greg Dickinson, who will become an Assistant Principal beginning the 2012-2013 school year.
Lanthier comes to the Central Coast from College of the Sequoias where he has been the Assistant Basketball Coach since 2010. Previously, he was the Head Men's Basketball Coach at Porterville Community College from 2005 - 2009 and at University of California, San Diego from 1994 - 2004. During his tenure at UCSD, he led their transition from an NCAA Division III Independent to a Division II Non-Scholarship CCAA Program. His high school experience includes teaching and coaching at Vista High School from 1989 - 2000 where he won CIF Division I championships in 1993 and 1994 and received multiple "Coach of the Year" awards.
A basketball and baseball star at Mt. Carmel High School, he received his B.A. in Business Administration from Point Loma College and M.A. in Educational Leadership and Curriculum Development at National University.
