Pismo Beach CAL FIRE unveils new engine

CAL FIRE in Pismo Beach has a new tool to fight fires.

On Saturday, the public has an opportunity to check out their brand new engine and equipment. Families are also invited to learn about the department and fire safety.

Officials say the new engine has some tools to help with rescues.

"This engine will give us a big telescoping light off the roof to be able to light up something like that a lot better for us to see what's going on and keep us all safe," said Kevin Anderson, a CAL FIRE engineer.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Fire Station 64, which is located on Bello Street in Pismo Beach.

There will also be food, drinks, demonstrations, and fun activities for kids.
