A huge milestone for Pismo Beach as the city sees its one millionth visitor.

The California Welcome Center has been keeping track of visitors since it opened in September 2006. The lucky one-millionth visitor arrived around 12-45 Tuesday afternoon.

The grand prize includes an overnight stay at the Mission Inn of Pismo Beach, tickets to the Great American Melodrama -- and Hearst Castle.

"Yeah a little amazing. I saw the tv crew and thought what's going on in here. We went in and the lady started telling us that oh, we're about to have our one millionth customer and its you, so it was pretty amazing," said Devin Lucas of Costa Mesa.

The welcome center in Pismo is one of 13 centers throughout the state. Pismo Beach is the busiest, averaging more than 20,000 visitors a month.
